How to be Renewed
We all know that feeling. You know the one. You're stuck in a rut, and nothing seems to be going your way. You feel like you're just going through the motions day in and day out. If this is you, don't worry—you're not alone. We've all been there. But there is hope! In his letter to the Colossians, Paul tells us how we can break out of that funk and be renewed.
"Put on your new nature and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become more like Him." Colossians 3:10
This verse picks up in the middle of Paul explaining that as Christians, we are to set aside the things of this world, our "old self," as life as a new creation in Christ. Paul says to put on our new nature and be renewed as we learn about God and become more like Him. This is the lifelong process of sanctification, the act of being made holy and purified.
How do we put on our new nature and learn about our Creator? First, we spend time with Him in His Word and understand who God is. Second, we take what we know and allow God to lead us through sanctification as we seek to become more like Him. God welcomes us to come.
The next time you find yourself in a rut, remember what Paul said in Colossians 3:10. Put on your new nature and be renewed as you learn about your Creator and become more like Him. It's not an overnight fix, but it's a lifelong journey that is worth taking. So what are you waiting for? Start learning about your Creator today!
